Bingo Chips

Bingo Chips are a mainstay of bingo games and bingo halls everywhere. So, you’d like to purchase some bingo chips. While you probably are aware of this, I’m going to write it anyway. Not every bingo requires bingo chips anymore. In fact, most of the bigger bingos at commercial style bingo halls where you can win larger prizes don’t use hard cards anymore. Therefore, at these bingos you won’t need bingo chips either.

What are hard cards you ask (or maybe you didn’t ask it, but I’m going to answer it)? Hard cards are those old school bingo cards built from a tough cardboard style paperboard. They’re durable, but they take longer to mark with bingo chips, so commercial halls have slowly removed them to allow for players (who want to play faster) to be able to play more bingo faces. Of course, you still see them out there, but most of the time they are reserved for special games or special programs where you want a bit of the old-school bingo feel.

Now, where was I? Oh yeah, bingo chips aren’t used as often at the bigger bingos anymore, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t a lot of fun at other occasions. They’re great for less formal games, or games like those at senior centers where gambling is less the focus and entertainment is more what the players want. So, the bottom line is that if you’re looking for bingo chips, no what type of bingo game you plan on attending or our planning for others.

One last thing: The difference between regular plastic bingo chips and the magnetic bingo chips is that you can pick up magnetic chips with a bingo wand. Magnetic chips allow you to clear your card after a game a bit faster and easier.
